Why we have to lost a point if someone found to be cheated against us in tournaments

Respected team of LICHESS,
yesterday I participated in one of classical tournament conducted by SMCA. In my last game I lost with one of the opponent. But just after the game his account closed because violating the fair play terms and conditions of liches. If i won the match i will be in top3 definitely and i will be awarded. This is not the problem of me so many people are effected like this. Please try to resolve this problem with satisfactory solution.

I don't believe that it's a satisfactory solution to change results after the tournament has ended. Cheaters are removed from the table but opponent's scores can't be reversed (only if the cheater is caught DURING the tournament), i.e. once the tournament is over, results are set in stone
