Lichess Marathon Tournament

I think the actual Marathon Tournament is unfair since the highest win rate does not make you the winner, and a 24 hour tournament will favor young players and older player that cannot stay up 24 hours without sleeping some hours will get lower results. Therefore I suggest that Marathon be reduced to a 12 hour tournament to give older players equal opportunities to younger ones. This would make the result more fair. And when a cheater is discovered, the results should be recalculated. To avoid cheaters, I think steps should be taken to stop players from playing tournaments before they have played x games during x time on Lichess without suspicious behavior. Unranked players should not be allowed to participate. All players should validate their identity so we know who is who. Then we have the "Reconnection Issue" that must be solved. I myself lose many games in any tournament because of this, and this is also unfair to players, and this never happens on ICC.
I like the idea of the win percentage, I feel I would have a chance winning the whole thing if I won my first game and then withdrew.

I like the idea of being more fair, I am young so I cannot get passed my bedtime which is around 9p.m. to be more fair to me the tournament should start at 8a.m. so I can play all the tournament.

And when playing against a cheater not only the score should not count, but I would like to have the additional time added to my clock since I would be playing potentially a game less than the others.

And in order to have transparency as long the tournament runs in the profile of all the competitors there should be a photo with their passport or i.d. attached.
To prevent identity theft it's a good idea not to publish passports, credit cards or any other personal private information online. The best method of cheating detection in both online chess site and over the board games is to compare the moves of the players with the engine moves. If there is very close match, the player is cheating. Now, to solve your other issue, why not make a two week long marathon? I am curious if there will be players who can play blitz chess 24 hours a day for 14 days without taking any breaks. It would be easy if they let an engine play automatically for them though.
the connection problem is in your end. as far as marathon length is concerned, the way you are suggesting is actually unfair for people not living near your timezone.

regarding cheaters.. i played over 120 games and watched like at least 50 more and there were like only 3 players that i even suspected of cheating. i could agree with something like "you should play at least 500 moves before you join tournaments", but i don't really care to be honest.
I disagree about the win percentage. The idea of the Marathon is to have people play as many games as they can - but basing the winner on a percentage encourages exactly the opposite, it would make people stop playing after good initial results so as not to ruin their percentage.

Playing more games should never have the risk of being a disadvantage for your tournament standings.

By the way, real Marathons (you know, where they use their legs, ugh) are also 'unfair' towards older participants. Favoring someone with greater stamina is just an inherent quality of any marathon-ish thing and it's not an injustice that has to be corrected.
The win percentage idea wouldn't work for the simple reason that people would get a high percentage... and then stop. That's not a marathon then.... yes, a minimum number of games could be set (i.e win percentage over at least x games in the tournament) but it wouldn't be a marathon.
We could have a Geriatric Marathon for 1 hour I suppose...

(I'd be eligible to enter it, but I'd rather make the effort if I'm going to do something special!)
I want one month long marathon tournament please. But if it is going to be hyper bullet, 1/2 minute time control, I won't participate!
Even in a real Marathon for running, swimming, etc, you never compete more than 10 hours. A 24 hour Marathon is not healthy at all. That Lichess promotes an unhealthy championship is not good at all...
