Hello former kb users. I have seen many complaints from people in the forums about the KB extension for ultrabullet not working for them. As a major proponent of the extension here on lichess, I thought it was time to address the issue and explain it to people. Here is what happened.
1. The extension was NOT blocked. Lichess does not consider it a breach of the terms of service and the extension is still considered legal.
2. A couple of days ago, lichess updated, and as a result, the way the extension was implemented will have to be modified by the developer before it will work again.
The problem is that simple. The developer, who I will not ping here for privacy, has not yet made this adjustment, but that is the issue. In the meantime, its mouse and touchpad only.
3. I am not refering to the built in extension where you type the piece movements in a form below the board. That is different. I am refering to the super fast, mouse hovering extension that makes it possible to play a little faster than is doable with a mouse. This is the extension that is having the problem.
I will make another similar forum post if/when it is fixed.
4. I really hope that those who dislike the extension will enjoy this time. I honestly don't mind it being gone, but I can still see you enjoying some kb free play for awhile! Have fun!
