Lichess Needs Ad-Revenue

If Lichess puts advertisements on their pages, they will get more money.
They can then use this money to make Lichess even better.
Things like hosting more money tournaments and paying top players to play/stream here.

Ads are against the lichess terms of service (lichess.org/terms-of-service):

"Lichess on the lichess.org domain, and the official lichess.org mobile applications, will never knowingly host adverts. Lichess is not responsible for third party adverts, widgets and apps hosted by the service providers on its social media."

also lichess doesn't need it

lichess gets to use a lot of software because of offering it free. ads would only hurt lichess.
