I much prefer to play on mobile.. for me (and I'm sure others as well) speed games can happen way faster with touch screens than with a mouse.
Also, If I'm out and about and just have a phone or tablet... it would be nice to see the offers, because there's absolutely no visibility as to who is looking for what.
If you're waiting for a certain game type and 5-10 minutes go by without someone accepting, you can find a game much faster by just accepting someone elses.
If it's a concern about layout and design, the mobile app Yafi has a pretty good implementation of this. There's buttons in fixed locations on a grid that pop up when there is a game, and then fade when the game is no longer available to accept. And then after a period, that space can be used again.
The buttons could be scrollable, and then if you offered the same filters that are on the standard lichess web portal, then the information displayed would be fairly manageable.
