Is the Streamer competition optimal for promoting lichess ?

Hi all

Disclaimer: I am by no means a site marketing expert. But I was just wondering if the official streamer lichess competition could be more flexible and this would benefit Lichess quite a bit more in terms of marketing.

What if it became "The Lichess Streamer/Youtuber" competition? This is just a proposal for future events.

So to participate, you could either/or:

1) Stream the duration of the whole event
OR
2) Doing a youtube video within 2 days of the event - otherwise lose eligibility for the next event(s)

I think that the Youtube videos for lichess could do a lot for Lichess marketing because youtube has much better SEO than Twitch. Maybe the video should be minimum 30 minutes or 1 hour. But it could focus on the most interesting games and with comments and annotation.

Would it not be the case that a lot more potential lichess promoters would enter such an event?

The current system means that there are multiple streamers on the night - but only a limited audience on the night.

The proposal adding the Youtube option (maybe just to Youtubers who have channels over a certain size) - would mean potentially a lot more people participating and creating basically video content which would help supercharge lichess promotion.

Some streamers can't stream on the night - but they have Youtube channels. So they could still help basically promote lichess the next day. And Youtube videos are more "eternal" not flash in the pan like twitch - unless uploaded to youtube after.

Anyway, in a nutshell I think it would be a win/win for content creators and lichess promotion, if the competition was about basically "video promotion" more broadly.

Maybe such an event could be run as an experiment to see the marketing impacts in the subsequent days of the event.

Thoughts and suggestions welcome... it's just an idea for marketing. Please let me know what the major issues are or you think its an interesting experiment at least. Lichess does seem to be experimenting adding a prize fund now for the the next competition as experiment - but i think this idea of the Youtube option for me - seems like an interesting idea.
