Atomic

How can King move into check in this variant and also not take, but then gets checkmated? Please explain this.
In standard chess, kings cannot meet because they would check each other, because they can take pieces. In Atomic, kings cannot capture pieces so technically the kings cannot check each other, so they can meet.

Kings cannot capture a piece because they would get blown up.
It can move in to "check" if taking it would explode the other King too. You can't explode your own King, therefore you can't take the opponent King if it would explode your own King.

You can explode or checkmate the opponent King if taking it or exploding it doesn't explode ypur own King.
The rules are fully elaborated in this study lichess.org/study/uf9GpQyI It explains exactly what check in Atomic stands for, and no, king can't move into check, but kings are never in check when they are connected.
Thanks,
It was the neighboring kings rule that I couldnt undertstand.
(Here, even though White is a queen up, the game is drawn. All Black has to do is keep his king adjacent to White's so that the Black king cannot be taken.)
If that helps any noobs like me. Thanks for linking that study #6
You can go next to your opponents king in atomic, cuz then their king would blow up
Cuz it will explode then.....
Hope you understand what I'm talking about.....
