I saw 42,000+ just last week. The true question is what's the lowest you've seen, (after lichess gained popularity, let's say, after Aug 2016), I saw 11,000 at ~11:45 EST.
I've never seen over 40k, that's amazing! I love that the site is getting more popular. The lowest I've seen is around 10k at early morning CET (3 to 5 am)
