Suddenly, the lichess app for Android is not functioning at all. I just see the logo/splash screen and then it immediately crashes to the desktop.
EDIT: Uninstall/reinstall accomplished absolutely nothing.
I can confirm this bug - I am unable to launch the android app.
Tested on Realme 7 pro running android 10
with an adb logcat I get:

And I found a work around: simply go to settings -> apps -> lichess -> storage -> clear data and cache

OK - Just a quick follow up: I have now tested on 4 android phone running android 5,10,10 and 11. And the bug only appeared on my daily phone. No longer able to reproduce the bug

I had the same problem, not only with lichess, but with other apps, updating Android System WebView (like recommended here
9to5google.com/2021/03/22/android-apps-crashing-webview/) fixed it
#1 etc. This is the point where I would be asking technical questions if I had any idea what to ask.

@grel3gargamelYeah - it is a bug in the webview. Also problems starting gmail app, but of course we noticed lichess problems first :-)

I updated Webview and the problem fixed
Updating Webview didn't help me, deinstalling did the trick.
