Lichess bans a player for loosing on purpose...what if something came up and the player has to go? why cant he resign and leave the game if loosing rating is already the punishment. Thankyou.

yes, loads of people play at work. Sometimes there is someone entering the office, who wouldn't be too happy paying them for playing chess :-)
Lichess doesn't ban players for a prematurely resigned game or two. Every case is inspected by moderators and if the same pattern happens multiple times and a clear intention is recognized the user will be marked.
