I think there should be bot tournaments only bots are allowed. Then they play against each other

Seems interesting... but for what? For entertaining purposes?

The only way I would agree with that is if Lichess one day host the WCCC World Computer Chess Championship.

Besides that, just see clones of bots battling each other is useless.

I think it would be fun for one (or 2 tournaments max).

Then what would follow would be useless.

So, if lichess would like to allow a single tournament just for fun, I would support the idea.

Also, I would be the opinion that only the original author of each engine would be able to register the bot in the tournament. That way we would have only ONE stockfish, only ONE leelaczero, only ONE Zappa, Houdini, etc...

That would be fun to see.
