How to underpromote

My pawns promote to a Queen automatically. How would I avoid this in that rare case when I don't want a Queen?

Go to: lichess.org/account/preferences/game-behavior
Change 4th point's option from Always to Never.

You press control while hovering over the 8th Rank if you want to not turn off the automatic queen. Otherwise, do what BitBeans and Akbar2thegreat said.

Thank you, Just.... I play bullet so I can't afford to turn off automatic Queen, but I knew there had to be some other way to avoid it in those rare cases when making a Queen would be a mistake.

There is a option of 'When premoving' of Promote to Queen Automatically under Preferences section, which would suit best for Bullet games.
