[Bug] Vivaldi can't load certain pages and crashes

Hello,

This seems more likely to be a Vivaldi bug than a lichess bug, but not having experienced the symptoms on other sites, i'm still posting here.

When i open any page with an actual board that isn't a live game (eg analysis, studies, etc), i just get an empty page with the background color. Ctrl+U for source opens the same thing, some blank page with default bg. When i look at source with dev tools, it seems i am getting everything so i'm assuming it's a problem with the rendering.

Also (and more annoyingly), once i do get on a glitched page, clicking "Previous" will crash Vivaldi instantly.

Would anyone know if there is a way around this ? I could of course use another browser, but i would like to use Vivaldi if possible.

Cheers,
ploucroux
@TheLostBaguette Ctrl-f5? Make sure you have no extensions. Try incognito mode (if it has one) to rule out some state. Or remove that state (cookies, passwords, anything related to this site).
Hey @Doofenshmirtz ,

I only have one extension (ublock origin) which i disabled for the tests. Ctrl-f5 i also checked and changes nothing.

I tried Incognito mode just now, exact same thing (with corresponding bg color). If i go on problems, i can still hear the sound as if comp just made a move, but i have nothing rendered on screen.

Can anyone else replicate the issue ? This windows install is pretty fresh so i doubt anything is interfering. Sounds more like the latest update of Vivaldi crashed some things.

Edit: for reference, i'm using Vivaldi 3.1.1929.34 (Stable channel) (64 bits) on W10.
I also tried disabling hardware acceleration, changes nothing.
Yeah, I have the same issues with the same 64-bit stable Vivaldi application on W7. I've tried everything I can think of.

EDIT: Actually, the other day I think I had it with the 32-bit stable Vivaldi application on W10 when I attempted to analyze a game. So it's not bitness-specific.
Ok well it seems it's Vivaldi then.

I'll send a crash report, hopefully they'll fix it soon.

Thanks
I reported the bug and sent a crash report yesterday. Here is their answer:

"Thank you for reporting this issue and sorry for the trouble.
We are aware of the issue and are looking into it.

Please bear in mind that (depending on the complexity) it may take a while for the fix to get into our Stable version."
Same issue! With ubuntu 20.04 . Nothing to do for us. :)
