We need to make lichess community more equal.

Success both in life and chess is mostly luck, and many factors can give people an unfair advantage. These are facts, before judging this post please read those:

So as we can see successful chess players have an unfair advantages, as being born in rich countries, having rich parents, being white males, or simply having luck. There are three things that we can do to make lichess community more equal:

1. People from discriminated groups should gain rating faster: this means, that after being verified as a woman, black, obese or queer person, ones rating need to be adjusted upwards to make lichess rating system fair.

2. Setting up maximum rating: nobody should have rating higher than 2500, the same as nobody should be a billionaire. People who have rating higher than that had were very lucky in their lifes, to be borned with predispositions to chess, and to afford expensive coaches. Allowing them to have so high rating is sinply unfair.

3. Possiblity to swap pieces colors in settings: there should be an option in settings to make white pieces display as black and vice versa, because the fact that white always starts endforces racist stereotypes about whote supremacy.

Of course, to some of you this may seem like a joke, but remember that if you would say in 19th that black people are equal to white, you also wouldn't be taken seriously. If you are still not convinced, please read my posts about how unfair is life and chess, and how luck can determine success in chess, and brong to top people, who totally don't deserve it. Not liking billionaires, but liking chess GMs is pathetic hipocrisy. Read those, before judging:

Responding to your questions: yes, I'm 100% serious, and no I'm not a racist, I just think that we have to start affirmative actions on lichess.
It says something about the times we live in that there is no possible way for me to know if this is intended as comedy or not.
Soooooooo what does this have to do with making Lichess more equal?
Edit: failed to read the “community” part, forget this post

I knew that some people won't take this seriously, and I know that this may seem radical, but I'm 100% serious, and I think that we have to realise at least some of these points.
If this is a joke, holy cow that's funny.

If this is not a joke, holy cow that's racist/sexist/etc.

To imply that certain groups of people, because of their sex, race, orientation, etc., are mentally incapable of learning chess the same way or at the same rate as everyone else on the same exact website that is FREE to literally everyone in the world with an internet connection, is bigotry of the worst kind: Well meaning bigotry.

It comes across as pitying. Basically, "Oh, those poor inferior beings. They're not capable of making it on their own, so we should help them."

Offering help and assistance is fine. Wanting to open up more opportunities to everyone is great. That's why Lichess is free to everyone! It gives everyone an equal opportunity to learn, play, and improve at chess!

But assuming that some people are literally unable to succeed as well as other people when given exactly the same opportunity due to their skin color, or sex, or whatever, is accidentally patronizing at best, and knowingly bigoted at worst.

It's a gross and disgusting attitude. Don't treat people like that.
This is one of the most racist and sexist things I've ever read. You're flat-out saying that women and certain ethnic groups aren't capable of success in chess on their own merits, so we have to make concessions and lower thresholds to help them out. It's ridiculous that people honestly believe that this helps anything. Chess is the ultimate equalizer...you're either good at it or not. It doesn't care who you are, where you were raised, your skin color, gender, etc. It's the same for everyone and should remain this way.

If this is comedy, it's gold.
If it's real, then it's pure horror.
@danegraphics I think I have to respond, because your post contains many false statements.

Stating that we need affirmative actions on lichess is not a joke. It's a fact, that is not widely accepted. Stating that we need affirmative actions is not racist, it's ANTI-RACIST.

You are referring to a myth, that if we want colorblind results, we need a colorblind law, which is basically a bullshit. Many groups are discriminated either by society and by "luck". Among chess grandmasters there are over 7000 men and only 40 women, if you think that it's because women are inferior, then sorry, but I think that is not me, who is sexist. Many groups are discriminated and it is harder for them achieve anything meaningful in chess - that's why we need to increase their chaces - to make lichess more equal, and recompense the discrimination. That's also, why we need affirmative actions in our universities and works.

> It comes across as pitying. Basically, "Oh, those poor inferior beings. They're not capable of making it on their own, so we should help them."

No it doesn't. Society makes harder for certain groups to achieve success, and that's why we have to recompense it.

> Offering help and assistance is fine. Wanting to open up more opportunities to everyone is great. That's why Lichess is free to everyone! It gives everyone an equal opportunity to learn, play, and improve at chess!

As I said before: having colorblind laws doesn't mean colorblind results. If some groups have an unfair advantage, then ignoring this advantage is a form of discrimination.

> But assuming that some people are literally unable to succeed as well as other people when given exactly the same opportunity due to their skin color, or sex, or whatever, is accidentally patronizing at best, and knowingly bigoted at worst.

I'm not assuming that some groups are not able to achive anything in chess, but belonging to some groups makes it harder, because of discrimination THAT LICHESS HAVE TO FIGHT!

> It's a gross and disgusting attitude. Don't treat people like that.

All I want is equal treatment of people from various races and genders, there is nothing wrong in it. I don't say that some groups are inferior, I say that some groups are discriminated and we need to recompense it.

The same for you, I just explained, why it is not racism, why I'm not flat minded and why we need affirmative actions.

That's the same reason why need "Black Lives Matter", but don't need "White Lives Matter" or "All Lives Matter".
