About me

I am a 28 year old IM with 2 GM norms from Greece, pretty serious and professional with chess.
I strongly believe that hard work will always lead you where you want to get.

Playing experience

I've been a participant to many World Youth and World Junior Championships, as well as the European Individual Championship. My greatest successes have to be the 2 tournaments where I scored GM norms, Kavala Open 2018, and London Chess Classic Open 2019. You can check out the games online, some of them where pretty good I think!

Teaching experience

I'm a certified chess coach both by FIDE, and by the Greek State as I have graduated from an programme led by the Greek State trying to certify the chess coaches around Greece. I've been an active coach for 8 years now and in that period I've managed to organise my self and the material I want to teach and get it in order.
I have been the coach and captain of the Greek Delegation participating in World Cadet Championships 2018 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain and World Youth Championships 2022 in Mamaia,Romania.

Other experiences

I have graduated from the faculty of Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens getting my Bachelor on Mathematics with a speciality in teaching.

Best skills

I personally believe I'm a principled positional player, with good understanding of Strategy and Endgames. I always believed that Capablanca was right when he said that in order to improve your game you have to study the endgame before anything else. My Calculation was always my personal weakspot, but through the process I had to undergo to fix that for myself, I learned a lot of invaluable techniques for a coach on calculation. The fact that I went through that training, helped me understand how people without a natural knack for calculation can learn to be quite good at it.

Teaching methodology

Lesson themes may vary according to the student's strength as well as current activity as a player. For people looking to seriously improve or compete on a high level calculating abilities, opening preparation and endgame technique will be on top of our agenda. Of course, while trying to aim at quick changes on our level of play, we are not going to forget that chess is a game needed to be studied deeply and while following the classics. For people that look for a more casual approach to chess improvement, positional play and the History of the game would take up most of our time. In any case, the preferences, weaknesses and strengths of the Student are also always taken into account.
