About me

I am a FIDE Candidate Master with ELO rating peak at 2259, based in Poland. In 2024 I will finish my Master Studies at Warsaw University of Technology in the field of electrical engineering. Nevertheless, I am willing to fulfill my dream and teach chess full-time, because it is my greatest passion. I am ready to spread the love to chess to a wider audience.

Playing experience

I learned how to play chess at the age of 5. During my junior career, I participated in dozens of Polish Junior Championships and won two medals in classical chess (U10 - 2008, U18 - 2016). After graduating from high school, I focused more on teaching others, but despite this, I achieved some significant results during the Polish Academic Championships with my university team.

Teaching experience

Despite my young age I would consider myself as an experienced instructor, because I teach chess since 2015. At first, I taught children from scratch, but nowadays I teach both kids and grown-ups, regardless of their level, thanks to many years of collecting and creating chess materials. As of now, my biggest success as a coach is training one of my students from scratch in 2 years to participate in Polish Junior Championships.

Other experiences

I was an editor-in-chief of a Chessbrains.pl chess news site for several months in 2019 and participated in Chesstoken.io project in 2019-2021, but sadly both projects are no longer continued.
During pandemic, with a group of chess friends called Robbery&Form, I co-organised a few online charity events with live coverage on Twitch as a main commentator.

Best skills

I would say my standout skills as a teacher are:
- An individual approach: Even though I have a lot of materials ready to use, I can work on any specific topic my student wants.
- Focusing on the ideas in the openings: Playing chess is not a memorization contest, so I teach about the structure and plans before going into ovelwhelming number of variations.
- Strong calculations skills - I observed that many players struggle right after the opening phase, so I came up with a solution to that problem.

Teaching methodology

My native language is Polish, but I have no problems teaching in English.
I use Skype, Discord, Google Meet - whatever suits my student.
Together with my students I analyze their games every week, so we are able to fix any problem immediately. I give a homework related to the lesson's topic within 2 days after every meeting.

If you are ambitious and ready to progress steadily, hit me up :)
