GM Carlos HA

I am a Cuban-American Grandmaster and was part of the Cuban National Chess Team from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, I came to the US after receiving a scholarship, where I represented the UTRGV chess team from 2016-19. In grad school represented UTD Chess Team for 2020-21.

I have won many tournaments, including the strong Cuban Open Capablanca in memoriam in 2011 and 2012. Also as part of the UTRGV chess team, we won the US Collegiate National Championship in 2018.

I have trained players with different levels, from beginners to Fide Masters, and from different countries, Cuba, US, Colombia, Mexico, and Bolivia, one of the most notable is the Scholastic World Champion GM Joshua Ruiz.
