NM Sebastian Korman

I am Sebastian Korman, a National Master (NM), two-time Finnish Champion (U20) and professional chess coach from Finland. I won the Finnish Chess Championship (U20) twice in 1984 and 1985 and became National Master in 1985 (Elo rating 2295). I participated in numerous international tournaments, including two World Chess Championships (U20) and one European Chess Championship (U20). During this time I also won several national tournaments in Finland.

I started teaching chess already in the 1980s in Finland, where I ran chess courses for young players. After that I have taught chess to numerous players at various levels. For the last eight years I have been teaching mainly one-on-one. This way I can concentrate much better on my student's improvement. During these years I have had students from all over the world.

Analysis and positional thinking. Over the years I have gained experience in finding my student's weaknesses and strengths more deeply. This helps me to find a way to help them even more effectively and of course not to forget to have fun with chess.

I teach one-on-one with Discord or other similar apps (audio/video) with screen sharing options and various online tools. I will make a personalized teaching plan for each student, according to their knowledge and skill level, and their goals in chess. Of course I also listen to the wishes of my students.
