My name is Oliver Wartiovaara, I am a 19-year-old Swedish-speaking Finn. I am offering part-time coaching for ambitious students.

My peak rating is 2321 elo.
I have won the Finnish scholastic and youth championship 7 times and represented Finland at the World Youth Chess Championships 3 times amongst other tournaments. I have also played in many strong international open tournaments like Grenke Chess Open, Rilton Cup, Chigorin memorial, RTU open etc.

I have won bronze in the last two Finnish chess championships.

I have beaten many grandmasters over the board in classical chess and in internet blitz. My biggest win is against the famous streamer and professional grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura in blitz: www.chess.com/game/live/53283014895

I have worked with various students in Finland and internationally.

Every student is unique and I will empower your own path in chess.

I believe in the classical approach to chess improvement. Learning from the great players of the past and present while also being up to date with the latest theory and training calculation. I will help to analyze your games, find mistakes and rid them off you while also improving your strong sides. I will also give homework if you want :)

Regarding openings, I have a lot of material and analysis stored on my computer. I will 100% share anything that you are interested in and will not hide anything!

If there is an opening that I do not have all the ins and outs because i don’t play it and you are interested in it, I will research it and come with an assesment before next class if you are interested and I will share my analysis of it.

Everything that we will do in our classes will be stored so the material will not be lost afterwards if you want to come back to it :)
