About me

I'm 35, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I learnt the rules of chess in 1997 and have played ever since.

- Candidate Master (2019)

Playing experience

I've studied with IM Jorge Rubinetti, who's won the Argentine Chess Championship four times. I've also studied with IM Ernesto Real de Azua, who has vast teaching experience and thanks to whom I've gained almost a hundred points (FIDE ELO standard rating) within a year. I've also studied with GM Salvador Alonso, who is in the top 15th of Argentina, and GM Carlos Obregón, who is in the top 10th of Argentina.

I've won two open chess tournaments and I've participated in two professional chess tournaments with GMs and IMs in them.

Open tournaments I've won:

Open and professional chess tournaments I've taken part in:

(Yael Open, ITT IM and Magistral GM)

Teaching experience

3 years of teaching experience to players up to 2000 rating on Lichess, for entertainment or competitions.

Since I have taught English and guitar for a couple of years, I have different methods and approaches to get my message across.

I'm always testing what my students have just learnt by reviewing, asking and, sometimes, putting it into practice in a game with posterior analysis.

Other experiences

I used to teach English and music (especially guitar, which is the instrument I play the most). I also have a good understanding of how to play the drums.

- Certificate of Proficiency in English (March 2019)

Best skills

My strongest points in chess are strategical understanding and positioning of the pieces. I also try to be as objective as I can when analysing positions as a player, and I want my students to get the same skill.

Lessons can be fun and serious at the same time. It's possible to have fun while studying without losing focus.
I have a lot of material on openings for positional games, and I'm eager to find material for those who prefer aggressive openings and work those positions.

Teaching methodology

Lessons:
Analysis of one of my students' games: Improvement of repertoire, "choose a better move" section in the middle game, analysis of the endgame.
Analysis of one game between masters related to the student's repertoire (optional).
Useful endgames that students must know (depending on the student's strength).
I might offer some puzzles to solve as homework.
I adjust my classes according to my students' needs.
Training games:
Commented games via Skype, analysing the opening, middlegame and endgame step by step.
