GM Mackenzie Molner

My name is Mackenzie Molner. I'm a Grandmaster from the USA living in New Jersey. I have been a full time chess coach for almost 10 years. I have experience teaching private lessons and group classes, ranging from completely new to some of the best scholastic players nationally. Won the Denker tournament of high school champions in 2004. I earned the GM title in 2013 and competed in the US Championship in 2014. I played on many US Chess League teams, including the New Jersey Knockouts, Arizona Scorpions, and New York Knights. 3 x New Jersey State Champion.

I have worked and continue to work with students of all ability levels and class sizes. Several of my students have won championships nationally or internationally for their age group but no matter the ability I am always happy to teach someone passionate about chess.

I am very easy going and patient. I am also very passionate about chess and helping my students and my enthusiasm for the game comes across during teaching. Students often find this engaging and motivating.

I try to teach my students a classical understanding of chess. We will work on building up your understanding of the game through themed lessons, game review, opening and endgame study. I am also happy to give a lesson specialized on a topic that the student is having specific problems with or wants to learn more about.
