Hello, My name is Vasilis Kotrotsos from Athens, Greece!
Chess has always been a big part of my life and I am a passionate chess professional.
My aim as a coach is to inspire all my students with the same (if not more!) passion for playing and studying chess!
Some of my main achievements OTB:
- 2 International Master norms
- 3rd place in Open Greek Chess Championship 2019
- 8th place in Closed Greek Chess Championship 2006
- Greek Youth Chess champion 2004 and 2005
- Athens Champion 2005
- multiple medals in youth Athens and Greek championships (1996 - 2003)

My methodology in private lessons is to
- Firstly identifying the playing style of the student and then focusing on the strengths while covering any potential weaknesses.
- Setting goals for OTB / online chess
- Studying practical opening / middlegame / endgame concepts
- Putting emphasis on specific aspects of the game as well as specific requests of the students.
