The Julius Baer Generation Cup 2023 is the fifth event of this year's Champions Chess Tour by Chess.com and will be played online from the 30th of August to the 3rd of September.

Division 1 is held as a 8-player Double Elimination tournament, featuring some of the world's strongest Super Grandmasters like Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja & Fabiano Caruana and a total prize fund of $112,500.

The time control is 15 minutes for the whole game with a 3-second increment from move one.

Each round consists of four-game matches in the Winners Bracket and two-game matches in the Losers Bracket.

In case of a tie, a bidding armageddon game with a 15-minute base time decides the outcome of the round.
