The 2022 American Cup are two 8-player double elimination tournaments, held from the 18th to the 29th of April in the St. Louis Chess Club, United States of America.

Each round consists of a 2-game match. Time control is 90 minutes for the entire game with a 30-second increment starting from move one.

Should a match end in a tie, a 2-game playoff match shall be played. For playoffs, time control shortens to 10 minutes with 5-second increment starting move one. If still tied, an Armageddon game shall be played.
