Beauty of a Repeating Miniature
An elegant miniature in Sicilian which I have played multiple times.1.e4 c5
Sicilian is a beautiful opening.
You don't agree? You better agree, or I might have to play it against you :D
Jokes apart, I love it for the imbalance you get right from the start, creating opportunities for both white as well as black. I have had chance to play excellent games from each side in various lines of Sicilian. They might not have ended with me winning, but I did I enjoy them? I sure did!
Here is one of the lines I play from the White side, idea being borrowed from 2018 World Chess Championship where they played some games in this. Let me show you.

Here, you see, White is threathening a devliish fork at c7 with both the Knights perfectly placed which forces black to capture and you get a good centre. Then white goes Qa4, with the idea of a discovered check, winning material and most likely the game. But Black prevents it, of course and the game ends in a draw.

Now, this very line is an inspiration for my miniature.
The Miniature
Black tried to push the Knight away with a6, but White is quick to develop the Queen and :
- Pinning the a6 pawn
- Aiming a discovered check.
Black plays a natural move Bd7 preventing the Discovery. All is well.
Right?
Right?
Do you see a problem?
Booom! There goes Nxd6#.
You won't believe, but i have got to play this exact line 6-7 times in my game and it's fun every single time. :)
