In this game I drew with Peter Odriscoll who outgraded me by 600 points. This is my best ever over the board result. I am very pleased with myself. I prepared for this game by going to the repetoire that Justicebot gave me and choosing an opening that I didn't think he would know. I checked with his online profile and he had very bad results against the Cozio.
Justicebot suggest I play the cozio deferred, but i played the Cozio as I wanted to avoid the exchange variation which he is very good at, and has beaten me with before in casual games.
I took this pragmatic approach as I knew my opponent and knew that even with preparation I would never beat him in the exchange.
I played the opening extremely quickly and we got down to an ending where I was a pawn down. As he was low on time he made sub-optimal moves and I was able to draw.
I had a plan for this mismatch and I was pleased I stuck to it.
