Hello readers and friends,i am Praneel and this time we are going to see how to defend scholar's mate

Scholar's mate

Scholar's mate is a chess variation where we mate our opponent in just 4 moves. These mates can be defended and there are effortless ways to defend these mates.

In this game both the players play king pawn opening. After that the bishop gets ready at c4 then black plays the same move at the next move, white moves the queen to h5 it is a mating threat to black at f7 with bishop support. But if black didn't see that and played Nf6 threatening the queen to move back, it's a huge blunder. At last, the queen checkmates black at f7 with the bishop's support

1: Step one to defend scholar's mate

the game you just saw above was the first step of defending the mate. It's very simple. First, you will play the king pawn opening and when white gets ready with his bishop to support the queen to mate at c4, you should move the knight to f6 so that if the queen moves to h5 trying to mate at f7, we can capture their queen with our knight.

2: Step two of defending scholar's mate

in this step, we are going to stop the attack later. We finished the king pawn opening and when the bishop plays c4 supporting mating square black plays bishop c5 when white plays the queen(mating piece)to h5 black moves the queen to f6. The mate has been stopped when white moves Qf7, and black captures the queen.

Wrong defence

this is the same as the above moves except for one thing, black plays g6 instead of Qf6. That is a big blunder. In addition to that blunder, white gains a pawn and a rook.
