Jensen & Hill Detective Agency Book 1 Draft

‘ I was walking, oh I almost forgot to introduce myself, my name is Matthew Jensen, as I was saying I was walking with my best friend when he said,"Hey Matthew, look at that man who is running towards us.” I replied saying “he seems to be looking for someone who is a detective, let's put on our detective badges and walk inside to our office.” and that is exactly what we did. And guess what the man actually came running in yelling “I need the Jensen & Hill Detectives.” Asher and I stepped out of our office saying “here we are.” He looked a little surprised. He probably thought how could two little boys be the best detectives in this town. “ I need your help my Suitcase has been STOLEN!” Said the man. “Hmm first can you tell me your name” I said. “My name is Ben Talker,” said the man.
“Where did you last see it?”
“In my hotel room”
“Did you look under your bed?”
“Yes”
“Did you look in the closet?”
“My hotel room doesn’t have a closet”
“Ok, did you look in the bathroom?”
“Yes”
“And it wasn’t in any of those places?”
“Not in any of them.” I was starting to wonder if this man was telling the truth. “Well Asher it looks like the Jensen and Hill Detective Agency is on another case,” I said “Mr Talker which hotel are you in at the moment?” Ben Talker started to look a little worried which made me think that he wasn’t telling the truth about him being in a hotel room. What Ben Talker says next caught me off guard, “I am staying in the hotel called The Benjamin Hotel,” Ben said “room 66.” ’

‘ When we got to The Benjamin Hotel I showed my badge. The man sitting there said “Matthew, I guess you want to go to room 66.” I wasn’t surprised at all, I just nodded. In five minutes Asher and I were going into Room 66 to try to find some evidence. We walked all over the room and guess what we found a “hey Matthew look at the floor it is a trap door” Said Asher. We opened the trap door and found ... stairs the walls had drawings of plans to take over the entire town. I knew that the villain we were hunting took Ben’s suitcase and wasn’t far away either. That last bit was because I could see a little light further in, and because I could see that the plans were made recently. And then I knew that this trap door wasn’t just any room and that Ben coming to us was part of the villain's plan. This room underground was a TRAP! “We have to go back up to the hotel room and call the police. This underground room is a TRAP” I whispered.’

‘When we got back up into the hotel room I grabbed my phone and called the police, I told the police everything that I knew. Five minutes after I hung up there was a police officer but I knew that she was no police officer. She was too quick. So I used sign language to tell Asher to hit her on the head. As soon as she was down I shut the trap door and tied up the fake police woman taking away her very real gun which was fully loaded and fired a pretend shot into the trap door just as the trap door opened just an inch and a body fell down and the trap door slammed shut. “Asher here take this gun and go find out who fell down” I said. To my utter astonishment Asher came back up with the owner of the Hotel Mr Benjamin Walker. I was very angry to find out that the owner of a hotel would plan against a town which has been very kind to him and even more angry to find out that he stole a suitcase. But at that very moment I saw something I hadn't seen earlier. Benjamin Walker looked a lot like Ben Talker and also their names sound very similar then it hit me they were cousins this wasn’t a robbery it was a conspiracy to 1 take over the town and 2 have me and Asher out of the way well actually number 2 should be number 1. “Asher tie up Benjamin and let’s go back to our office,” I said.’

‘When we got back to our office we were surprised to find that Ben was there and was tied up. He also was gagged. When we took the gag off him he said “Matthew I got tied up by my uncle oh and I might have forgotten to tell you that my uncle is Benjamin Walker. He owns the hotel I was staying in. I believe that he might have been the person that stole my suitcase.” I was starting to wonder if he was telling the whole truth or just a half truth. “What did you have in the suitcase that was stolen?” I asked. “Well there were a few computers and a few phones and also a few ipads.” Ben said. I started to wonder what he really did as a job. “Are you a device creator or do you sell devices?” Asher asked. Ben was being very silent as if he didn’t know what to say. “I am both a creator and a seller of devices but those ones were mostly ordered and were being taken to ... well I can’t tell you.” Ben said. “Ok,” I said, “Asher, grab a torch. I think I know where the suitcase is.”’

‘When we got back to the underground tunnel we were starting to go forward when all of a sudden a lot of wooden torches went on. “Asher, turn off your torch and grab one of the wooden torches,” I said. When Asher grabbed a wooden torch we started to walk deeper into the tunnel. When we got to the very end of the tunnel we found a suitcase with Ben’s name on it. “Asher grab the suitcase and let’s get out of here there is something strange about this tunnel,” I said.’

‘When we got back to our office I rang Ben “Hey Ben we found your suitcase at the back of that underground tunnel,” I said “... no we have not opened it ... no we don’t have a million packets of cookies ... yes the suitcase has your name on it ... bye.” fifteen minutes after the phone call Ben was at the office door. He came in and said “So where is my suitcase?” “not yet” I said
“Why?”
“Because I want to see if you were telling the truth”
“Do you mean that you want to look into my suitcase?”
“Isn’t that obvious?”
“I guess it is, but why don’t you trust me?”
“Because of a feeling that I have been having while you were around”
“I don’t know what you mean”
“I mean that I have been feeling something that was saying you weren’t telling the truth at all”
“Fine, you may look in the suitcase.” Asher opened up the suitcase and it had lots of devices and lots of money which was pretty much what Ben said was in there except for the money. “Well it seems that The Jensen and Hill Detective Agency has solved another case” I said. Well that was the story of how Asher and I solved The Case of The Lost Suitcase.’
