Opening Theory TN ALERT! - Stunning Opening Novelty discovered in Smith-Morra!

ChessAnalysisOpeningTacticsStrategy
I could not believe my eyes when this came up! Think of all the roads and bouncy roads to the Opponent's king!

Hi Guys

I want to share with you a major opening novelty that seems to cast even more doubt on an accelerated Queen's bishop fianchetto setup by black against the Smith-Morra Gambit.

Before I do, I can only say it is accompanied by the attacking epiphany:

"Checkmate ends the game..... "
THEREFORE
Check all the roads and "bouncy roads" to the Opponent's King

THEREFORE
Your "line" pieces - Queen, bishops, and rooks can use those roads! The knights can help support the line pieces of course for 'soft spots' around the Opponent's King.

THEREFORE
A King left in the center can create a beautiful orchestra of all these roads and bouncy roads overwhelming the opponent!

Pure - Ruthless - Logic !

BEHOLD the TN !:

Re1 !! (DOUBLE EXCLAM!)

Much stronger than exd5 - see the detailed analysis

Here are some example outcome positions:

Outcome example 1 with 10...dxe4

Ne5 is an instrumental move - even though we self-blocked the e-file we removed the e6 granite pawn:

Key Takeaway points

  • I remain a big fan of the Smith-Morra gambit and have a playlist here: https://kingscrusher.tv/smithmorra
  • It seems that the Smith-Morra gambit's true colors are starting to be revealed with the latest top engine technology. A lot of the 'systems' mentioned by Wiki against it can be really crushed with accurate play from White!
  • The Smith-Morra Gambit is a modern gambit that maybe was under-represented in the Romantic Era of chess
  • This kind of Re1 move sheds light on many principles of attacking chess - to use not just the straightforward roads to the opponent's king but also the bouncy roads!
  • Check the Wiki article on Smith-Morra and use the setups there for black as your punch-bags to practice against! Here is one punch-bag variation that gets annihaliated.
  • The variation by black is far too many active operations and moves with the King in the center. As the Art of War principle indicates "Put yourself beyond defeat before going onto the attack". This whole Queen's Bishop fianchetto variation is a fundamental violation of the art of war, and maybe it should not be entirely surprising the line gets annihilated with the best play from White!
  • Ruthless attacking logic dictates we should be checking for roads and bouncy roads to the opponent's king - the variations represented above show all the roads in ORCHESTRA - Black simply can't handle all the roads with the King in the center!

Hope you enjoyed this blog :). Any likes and follows are really appreciated. Also, I also have some interesting chess courses at https://kingscrusher.tv/chesscourses to check out.
