How to play as a Zombie army against a friend on lichess in 5 steps!

Something interesting happened, after I made those two ridiculous videos:

Shortly after he saw the video, my little brother sent me a WhatsApp message which looked like this:

It more or less translates to:
"I WANT TO PLAY ZOMBIE BATTLE AGAINST YOU ONCE"

And BOOM, we played a game, where he was the Zombie Army, and I fought back with my White chess pieces.

we also had a rematch, of course.

This was fun, so I wanted to share with you how to do the same with one of your siblings, or a friend.

How to fight with a Zombie Army against a friend on lichess in 5 steps

1. Click on Tools in the upper menu, and from there on Board editor

2. In the board editor, you need to set up the pieces as the Zombie army. This takes roughly 17 seconds. And now, click on CONTINUE FROM HERE

3. You now have the options of playing with a computer or a friend. But sadly, the computer option is a trap! It won't work with self-generated fantasy setups. Click on the option to PLAY WITH A FRIEND instead.

4. The Variant is from the position, so please leave it as it is. Anything else can be changed as you wish.

5. The final step is to invite someone to play with you. All you need to do is copy the URL by clicking on the blue button, and paste it to anyone you want to challenge. Furthermore, you could simply invite a Lichess User by searching for them.

The Zombie Army is the underdog!

According to Stockfish, the White pieces have an advantage of almost +10! This might come as a surprise, and your gut feeling might disagree, but on the other hand, you will quickly understand that White can build up plenty of checkmate threats easily, by breaking through on one side.

So, the stronger player should play as the Zombie Army. This turns out to be an interesting exercise, and is different to the well-known, and more balanced Horde variant on lichess.
