States Chess Cup - MA Team
Fellow MA chess players,
I would like to invite you to participate in the States Chess Cup to represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Massachusetts is being invited to send a Team of four players to match against Teams of other states. Each player on each Team will play four games per match, one per week, against all the players of each opposing Team.
Thanks very much.
Nicholas P. Sterling, Ph,D.

Average USCF Rating for each week’s lineup must be below 2200
This applies to USCF Regular Rating - June Supplement
If a player is unrated USCF, but as a FIDE rating, we will use their FIDE Rating + 100
If a player is unrated USCF and FIDE, their rating will be marked as 1800
Rating floor of 1800 (a player rated below 1800 will count as 1800 towards the average rating)
No free agents - players can only play for their home state, as listed on the USCF website
Players who play for one team, but move to a different state mid-season, may play for their original team, but they cannot play for their new state
No maximum roster size
Because the league will be USCF Online Rated, all players need to have an active USCF Membership in order to play any matches. If the player’s membership has expired, they need to renew it before they play any games
