Paco S(h)ako is a new variant (meaning 'peaceful chess' in Esperanto), that has replaced 'captures' by 'uniting' the pieces and let them continue as a whole, to be used by both players.
Unions cannot be broken, but partners can be swapped, leading to a possibility to chain a large number of pieces. This creates very fun and beautiful tactics.
