Let's Popularize Atomic!

Atomic is declining. Once there were over 2000 players every week, now that number is dwindling to 1500. Top 100 and Top 50 floors are going down because fewer and fewer good players are active. We need to stop that and make Atomic great again!

The main reason why Atomic is becoming less popular is that most of the people left are playing crazy fast time controls such as 1/2+0 or 0+1. Such games are only mouse and opening memorization contests, and they discourage new or mediocre players who just want to learn the game but because of the Atomic tournaments being predominantly fast time controls will get beaten every time and give up.

Now here's my plan: We need about 10 active and determined players to make atomic tournaments with long time controls. Our goal is to have a tournament with long TC at any moment of the day, so we also need diverse timezones to be able to cover every hour of the day.

If you are interested in this and want to join the effort, please tell me in the join request what your timezone is and at what times you could be on Lichess to make the tournaments. I will start to do more detailed planning once we've got enough users to get started.
