Katowice (Poland)- "city of chess"
Katowice is a city located in the southern part of Poland, also known as the “city of chess”. The city hosted the World University Chess Championship 2014, European Blitz and Rapid chess championship in 2017, European Blitz 2020 (online) and another big international tournament (for example Polish-Hungarian friendship chess tournament). World Chess Champions gave simul in Katowice (Spasski in 1992 and Kasparow in 1993).
