Ireland to Lesotho

In February 2022, Declan Buckley will be volunteering in Lesotho with Action Ireland Trust and Portmarnock Community School to engage in a program of work in the impoverished area of Southern Africa - Lesotho.

During his time in Africa he aspires to bring over chess equipment for the 5 schools and to teach the children the basics of the game. Declan wants to leave them with the understanding that games can cut across language, age, race, religion, politics, gender and socioeconomic background and by introducing the sport and leaving them with some equipment, The hope is it will help in their development and love of the game.
