Economists Chess Arena

Are you an academic economist? Do you play chess? Would you like to spend an hour playing chess against other economists once in a while?

Sign up for the Economists Chess Arena! Fill out this Google Sheet to sign up: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScqUrzvPZfKK0iTIH4ZYj-wgy4bdHTiSPsYgg_OrAGQnIwrUA/viewform?usp=preview

Organized by Paul Novosad and Michael Stepner, these arenas will last 1 hour and happen roughly once per month. The tournament will happen on lichess.org: you'll play as many games as you can within the hour. You can arrive late or leave early. Over time you'll tend to play against players with the same number of wins and losses as you.

All skill levels are welcome—whether you just learned to play, you're Grandmaster Ken Rogoff, or anywhere in between.

The goal is simply to play some chess and make some connections. Perhaps someday you'll be chatting at a conference with someone who you wouldn't otherwise know, reminiscing about the brilliancy you played against them in a tournament—or that time you hung your queen.
