Chess Federation of Zambia

The Chess Federation of Zambia, supporting the efforts of the Government Republic of Zambia and people all over Zambia, has decided to promote an online national initiative in order to give a creative outlet to those that have to spend many hours at home. Additionally, we promote the ideals of unity and solidarity which must be manifested in such times.
With the FIDE motto "Checkmate Coronavirus" we will organize at least 30 online tournaments across such chess platforms as (Lichess) with hundreds of participants running for 16 days.
The tournaments are aimed at all the chess players in Zambia, regardless of age or their level of play. There will be many special prizes, and all of them will be distributed not between those who score more points, but between winners of the random draw, thus giving a winning chance to everyone and reward first and foremost the value of participation. CFZ will also organize merit tournaments in order to award the best players.
