Chess Federation of Sri Lanka

CFSL is the central administrative body for the game of chess in Sri Lanka. Founded in 1978, the federation is affiliated to Fédération Internationale des Échecs, (FIDE), the world body for chess. Currently, CFSL is among the top 5 active sports federations in Sri Lanka. CFSL also recognized by the Asian Chess Federation as the best Chess Movement in Asia Award 2016 at Asian Chess Excellency Awards which was held at Al Ain, UAE on 2017.12.23. At present, there were nearly 10, 000 active Chess players in Sri Lanka. Chess Federation of Sri Lanka mainly focused on developing the game of Chess within Sri Lanka while conducting the routine events.
