Bad Internet Feature

We can't improve your internet connection. You should complain to your internet provider not lichess.
Complaining to your internet provider or local politicians might motivate them to improve their offer.
Well, what if you live in the middle of nowhere? Are you screwed?
Also, how would I go about doing this "complaining"?
Call your congressperson and tell them that you want the state to improve infrastructure. They will laugh at you and tell you that you are stuck with them because you live in a country with a 2 party system and can't do anything about your representation.
Hi,

iirc, ICC (the chess site) has quite an elaborate algorithm to compensate lag, but it had some trouble with it, when cheaters used it to trick it into compensating for non-existing lags. It had to be made cryptographically secure, which in itself presents quite a number of high-level challenges.

When you look at the end-result (customer satisfaction) you may notce, that people with lag simply cannot compete in the very fast chess domains properly and every SGM (like Nakamura) knows it and doesnt play against those anymore.

My take on it: Play fast time controls locally in real life only, if you dont have a proper connection. There is nothing, a chess site can do to help against bad connection.
In USA? there still are places with no proper internet? are you sure you are from US? :D lol
If the condition of your internet connection is such that playing raid time control chess in untenable then you will just have to play longer times. Unfortunately Lichess cannot do anything for your connection issues, only your ISP can
Lichess is indeed very easy to load. No delays , no ads , no "secret code"....
Free chess , fast access , various improvements all the time!
We all want some new features added , we have our complaints from time to time , but there is no doubt that this site is fantastic!

@stockmodo_007 Yes, I live here in the USA... one problem: I live in the middle of cornfields. Satallite internet. 675+ ping. Not fun.
