Tournament Rating Ceiling

Just wondering, the rating ceiling (e.g. U1500 means a ceiling of 1500) refers to the maxmimum rating we have achieved?

I have recently fallen under 1500 rating but I can no longer participate in U1500 tourneys :(

No, the rating ceiling applies to your highest rating in the last week, as it should tell you if you attempt to join a U1500. If you remain under 1500 rating for a week then you will be able to participate again.
