Mate trap on move 6 in the English Opening

I play English opening since 2017 and i know it well. It's a typical treat of the English opening with the four knights and if you found it without any knowlegde about this treat I congratulate you
Anyway white could save the situation with 6. f4=, the fatal move is 6.Nd3
Probably a bit late to respond to this thread, but as someone who has opening preparation for this as black, 5. Nxe5 Qe7 6. f4 is actually something black would be hoping for - white has to significantly compromise their kingside pawn structure and black probably has good compensation for the pawn. Better is something like 5. Bg2 and black will trade the knights on f3 (the main purpose of the Nd4 line is simplification to ease the pressure on black).
As a former Bird's and dutch player, the slight weakening of the kingside is well worth the pawn.
I agree w/ #4 and also would point out from "The Complete Chess Course," a thick book w/ many, many games that this line shows exactly why white cannot be greedy on 5. Nxe5 to get a pawn but must play Nxd4...exd4 and white is fine.

Now if I could only win some crazy house games in stead of being just terrible & slow...
Good to know... I mainly just got this from my opening manual (FCO), which says that "there has not been much interest in proving that the position after f4 is playable for white" (or something like that - I'm paraphrasing) so nice to hear there is some actual evidence to show this as well.
Of course I said f4 with equality because Stockfish says this, but honestly as human I think that black has a great compensation for the pawn lost and white needs to do very accurate moves to gain a real equality without any risk
