How to recognise my strengths as a player?

When I play, I tend to play positionally as I am usually more comfortable while playing positionally. But I have also noticed that sometimes, I try to make an aggressive move in a slow game and that leads to my defeat. Is there any way to identify what are my strengths and weaknesses or is it only a matter of experience?
Hello,i am not sure i fully understood your question. Experience helps a lot to develope style of a chess player. Often it is a matter of experience like u say but to determine your style you could answer to 20 questions here: http://www.chesspersonality.com/
Play what you are comfortable with. Train what you are uncomfortable with.

Chances are that most of us below GM level have no real "strengths" - we will regularly make mistakes in every area. Don't worry too much about that.
Playing strength is an accumulation of experience.
I had the same problem. I found the solution : "I Have no style, I just make moves" (Tony Miles).

I agree with ProfDrHack : don't worry too much about that.
Looking at some of these games in addition to others

It looks like you just need to work on tactics and calculation. You're also not spending any time on the clock to think about your moves! With that being said, these are pretty easy things to fix.

Hope this helps
You don't. Someone who understands chess better, e.g. your trainer, identifies your weak and strong spots for you after looking at some of your wins and many losses. If you do it yourself the results might obviously be biased.
