One of my favourite games or How I won an 'equal' endgame

I really like this game, this is the style of chess that I personally appreciate the most and I think it was pretty well played too so I wanted to share it here. Cheers guys, enjoy, leave comments, thoughts, questions, analysis below!
Well played. Why did he cede the e-file to you with 26...Kxe8?
After the natural 26...Rxe8, do you have anything?
During the game (it was a 10+0 time control) I felt that Kxe8 is probably the less bad option for black, because if he had instead went 26.Rxe8 it felt quite unpleasant for black after something like 27.axb6 followed by Ra7 and Nb4 where I take the 7th rank, c6 is quite weak and white overall has a lot of play, so this is what I'm assuming was going through his mind as well. However analysis after the game revealed that after 27.axb6 axb6 28.Ra7 black simply plays Ke6 and meets ...Nb4 with Kd6 which should hold for black, despite still being slightly unpleasant for him. However I think I can understand his point of view; allowing white this kind of activity seems suicidal, especially when you don't have a great amount of time to consider this option carefully.
Black can equalize with some difficulty after 26...Rxe8 27.axb6 axb6 28.Nb4 Rc8 (a passive rook is not a good sign but it gets better) 29.Re1 Nb8 30.Kg3 g6 31.f4 gxf4+ 32.Kxf4 Rd8 33.Nd3 Nd7 34.h4 c5. There is no much either side can do to improve his position. This is easy to say when one can "discuss the position" with Komodo, without any time constraint.

There was no point for Black to put himself in such a difficult situation as, on the previous move, 25...Rxe1 26.Rxe1 Rc8 27.b4 b6 28.axb6 axb6 29.Ra1 c5 30.Ra7 Ke6 31.bxc5 bxc5 32.Ra6+ Ke7 33.g3 cxd4 34.cxd4 Rc2+ 35.Ke3 Rc3 is simply equal. In my opinion 25...b6 is the real mistake because 25...Rxe1 was a simpler equalizer.

In the game, White's technical precision is impressive once Black has erred. Perhaps 32.Kg3 would be cleaner, but at that stage many plans are equivalent.
