I've just looked at the ECF gradings but the format looks different to what I was expecting - I was expecting it to be 3 or 4 digits like Chess.com/lichess, etc but it's a number like 117088A. How do I read it and what does the letter mean?
I think you are confused about how to find the ECF grade. In the ECF, grades go from about 10 to about 250, rather than from 100-2900. That number that you have found is not the player's grade. However, if you go to http://www.ecfgrading.org.uk/new/menu.php , you can type the player's name into the search box. If they have played a sufficient number of games in the past six/twelve months, they will be graded. They may also have separate, different grades for standardplay versus rapidplay. Hope this helps!
I donno. I tried to read this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECF_grading_system but it didn't really help me much. All i know is you can "convert" it using F=7.5E+700.
That makes sense - thank you :-)
