Sound is OFF for me and I cannot figure out how to turn it on.
Click on your username at the top right → sound → choose the sound.
1. maybe its just your computer.
2. the site is muted and you need to unmute it by right clicking the tab and selecting unmute site.
3. lichess sound is off. go to your lichess name at the top right and click "sound" and then turn it up.

Sound is off for what? For the pieces? The noise when you start a game? The person counting down in a tournament?
Check your settings for your clock and check your sound in lichess, located in the "Sound" section when you click your name in the top right.

Sound for piece movement is off. I tried this and choose the NES sound but it is still off.

I restarted the browser (Brave) and now sound is back.
