Study from a PGN-file?

Hello. A while ago I started to transcribe the "Cuadernos de ajedrez" ( http://www.tabladeflandes.com/cuadernos_de_ajedrez.php ) from PDF into PGN, with the purpose of sharing it with friends. They are studies on openings plus exemplary games published by Argentinien teachers, and they are online for free. Now I'd like to make lichess-studies out of them. But when I import a PGN-file, I only get the moves, but the whole text is missing. I created these files with the app DroidFish, and I can read them with ChessBase as well. The problem is that the text get lost when I open the file with a regular text editor, or with programms like OpenOffice. Is there a way to solve this? Thank you in advance :-)

seems like {} is for commenting in the pgn file maybe a bracket is missing?

@chesspibito can you share one of these .pgn files to let us see what can cause the problem, please?

Seeing the PGN file would be helpful.

Also it would be cool (but by no means necessary) if Lichess' PGN viewer could somehow communicate PGN parsing errors more clearly.

Thank you guys for your answers. @Darksouls your links are very interesting. I will read them in detail! I created those files directly with DroidFish, not as a text file. But when I open the resulting file with the notepad, the whole text is missing. Altough, opening those files either with DroidFish or ChessBase works. On the PC I tried SCID, and I cannot read anything.
@gbtami , @Toadofsky : Pasting the pgn-text wouldn't work for the given reason. Is there a way to attach a file instead?

seems to me when importing into lichess it ignores all comments

if you import such games into a study the comments will not be gone. They are stripped however if you import them using lichess.org/paste . These are two different things.

If Scid canot read the PGNs then they are definitely formatted wrong. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portable_Game_Notation .

If the error is not you it could also be the encoding. _Dont_ use Notepad to edit text files – it prepends a BOM marker ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte_order_mark ), use Notepad++ ( notepad-plus-plus.org/ ) and check that the encoding is UTF-8 and not UTF-8 BOM (menu 'Encode' -> should be set to 'Encode in UTF-8' or 'Encode in ANSI', if it is not, select 'Convert to UTF-8' from the same menu and save the file).

btw, the error which Scid gives if you try to import the file would be interesting to know.

i can import the PGN from #5 without errors into Scid. In the PGN from #6 there needs to be a space before the first '{', then Scid can import that too. I can import both PGNs into a study without changing anything and the comments from the second PGN stay: lichess.org/study/7YCcV4hF (in other words, Lichess is more forgiving than Scid).

ok @nh78 I was just dabbling with it in notepad I didn't really know the difference between the two as I haven't invested a lot of time into the study option but thanks for the reply.
