Is the Inbox Report button working?

Like many people, I assume, I've been receiving junk mail requesting that I join ______'s team. Since clousems doesn't negotiate with spammers, I've simply been clicking the "report" button and ignoring.

However, I have not noticed anything that results when I do this.

I am relatively certain that these reports are not being investigated, as one user (with whom I have no connection) has sent me a form letter asking me to follow him and join his team at least 5 times on a semi-regular basis. Not form letters. The same letter.

It's vaguely reminiscent of an Edgar Allen Poe tale, in that the object of my annoyance keeps coming back no matter what.

Should I be redirected to the "report" page when I press the report button? Should I use the "report" page instead of the inbox report button? Is this just something lichess mods don't deal with?

You can try the report page, that certainly works
But this is not an Insult, and can not be put into Cheat or Troll or Rating Manipulation
The only other path is 'Other'

I think Lichess should create an option of 'Inbox Spam'

What does the ⚠️ mark beside the inbox mean? It is about reporting directly that user.

Well, I did eventually, but I'm very lazy about blocking people. I report this type of behavior, though, since I doubt I'm the only one who he's been spamming.
As I said, I'm not sure if the "report" button is working properly, if the reports sent through this avenue just aren't being addressed, or if the reports are being denied.
Perhaps lichess should implement some sort of confirmation to assure the user that the report goes through? They have one for the general report page.

I consequently block people who spam my inbox.
