Why prevent draws?

@OhNoMyPants

I just want to know how did you conclude that the Exchange does not promise anything for white.

By that logic, Symmetrical English also does not promise anything to any side. But the starting position is also symmetrical. Does that mean white can not play for a win?

Move 3 is WAY TOO EARLY to decide a side can or can not play for a win.
If you really consider Exchange French to be good for white, why don"t the GMs counter Russian Defense, the one Caruana is using right now with much success not countered by
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.d3(?!) Nf6 6.d4 d5...
explanation, because it is just easy equality. There are reasons to play it still, like you want to avoid theory, or you WANT to have as easy draw as possible. Or you even win by forcing your oponent to risk in equal positions (due to him beeing stronger or having to win). There are strategical explanations to play it still. But from a objective point of view, for the moment of 3.exd5 you give up all the advantage you got in the position. 3.Nc3 is the best way to pose problems for black to solve, while 3.exd5 does not give black any. It is true that white has an easy way, can hardly do anything wrong, or that YOU get good results in it, but it does not make 3.exd5 a good move. If you don"t get that you should not write anything in this thread at all
CM Sarg0n = Draw master
I am just asking do you draw games you mite not win?
Or do you draw against your rating level and higher
@savagechess2k It's not about the symmetry, but about the lack of dynamic possibilities. In the symmetric english both sides have immense dynamic options with a countless number of different ideas for pawn breaks. In the french exchange, white goes a long way towards removing any dynamics from the position leaving both sides just dead equal.

It's not symmetry, or the lack thereof, that defines equality - but dynamic possibilities. Asymmetry just happens to often enable a variety of different dynamic possibilities, but there are also plenty of symmetric positions (such as in the English) with lots of potential for dynamic play.
Don't mistake lack of talent for genius.
Against A Kasparov or Fisher (Players who hated draws) draw offers would be refused.
Some players play speed chess against lower rated players (100 points average) and have a high rating and draw persent
Some player play slow chess against higher rated players and have a lower rating and draw persent
1. e4 e6
2. d4 d5
3. ed5 ed5
4. c4
Why is there lack of dynamic possibilities? There is still a LOT to play.
