Robbed of rating!

I was analysing one of my games and forgot that I had entered a tournament. Lost quite a bit of rating points..

I thought you didn't use to lose rating points if you didn't move because it's like an aborted game.

Not in a tournament. In a tournament you're forced to play who you're paired against.

Forfeiting the game - and tournament points - in such cases seems justified, but in "real life" no-shows do not affect ratings, which makes sense as ratings should reflect a player's strength and nothing else.
