For custom 960 events I'd like to be able to specify (or randomly select) a fixed position for the entire arena, just like St. Louis CC just did.
whats your argument for that? I say exclude position #518! because standard chess is so overplayed, annoying, and little kids own me every single time!
I think it's a good idea. Playing the same starting position several times allows getting a feel for the position and makes the games more interesting.
and why always the starting position #518 for the other variants ?
